Gale Virtual Reference Library

Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL) is a reference source with access to more than 70 digitized books on a variety of subjects, including history, science, government, and more. 

Features

  • All titles are searchable in the PPLD catalog and can be streamed in a web browser. 
  • Unlimited, simultaneous use, no due dates.
  • For use on any computer and most mobile devices.
  • Requires 400 library card and PIN to access outside of Library locations.
  • Offers many helpful settings including MP3 reading, translations, citation engine, text sizing, font changes, and bookmarks. 

What do I need to use Gale Virtual Reference Library?

  • A Pikes Peak Library District library card number and PIN.
  • A personal computer or laptop with Internet access to use the website. 

How do I use Gale Virtual Reference Library?

  • Click on the database link above.
  • If inside a library location, you will be redirected to the database.
  • If outside a library location, log in with your PPLD library card number and 4-digit pin.
  • Search for a title or browse the collection.
  • Click on the book image to open and read.

  4. Browse the collection by topic

When logged into the database, scroll to the bottom of the screen. Click on Help.
