Once Adobe Digital Editions has been successfully downloaded to the Windows or Mac computer, you can start reading ePub and PDF books borrowed from OverDrive and Freading. When Adobe Digital Editions opens a book, it confirms that you have the permissions to read it. Many books are Digital Rights Management (DRM) protected. If it is not a protected book, you can open it and start reading. However, if it is a protected book, you have to authorize Adobe Digital Editions using an Adobe ID. After completing the authorization, you can read the book and/or transfer it to an ereader.
