Freegal

Freegal is a service that allows users to download up to five songs per week and stream 5 hours of music per day using their PPLD library card. Songs are free of digital rights management, or DRM-free, and for patrons to keep. The Freegal app is available on most smartphones and tablets. Freegal can also be accessed on PCs & Macs using the Freegal website.

Note: Nooks, non-Fire Kindles, some iPods, and dedicated e-readers are not compatible with this service.   

What do I need to use the PPLD Freegal app?

  • A Pikes Peak Library District resident library card number (resident card numbers start with a 4) and PIN.
  • A compatible mobile device (phone or tablet) with wireless Internet access.
  •   

   

Access Freegal via a browser (IE, Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Safari).  Login to the Freegal website using your PPLD card number and PIN. 

Freegal Music uses your browser to download music. There is no need to install anything on your computer to use Freegal. 

Once logged in, you can browse recommended songs or search for specific artists, albums, and tracks. A smaller collection of music videos is available, however they take 2 credits to download.
