Online - Laser Cutter and Engraving Badging

Getting certified to use the laser cutters and engravers during our makerspace Open Hours is simple. Follow the steps below to learn everything you need to know in order to use the machine.

1) Watch the video linked below. We recommend watching the entire video before proceeding to step 2, where you will take a quiz to ensure that you understand everything you need to know to use the machine safely and effectively.

2) Complete the assessment quiz. You must enter your own individual library card number at the beginning of the quiz. If you do not yet have your own library card, please visit the library and register with us.

You must answer all 8 questions correctly, so make sure to pay attention to the video. If you don't get it right the first time, don't worry. Look for the "View Your Accuracy" link after you finish the quiz to see how you did. If you got a question wrong, you can go back and take the quiz again.

3) Make a reservation to use a laser cutter and engraver at East Library, Library 21c, or Sand Creek Library.  Anyone under 18 years old must also turn in a paper Creative Space Use Agreement signed by a parent or guardian. See the General Information tab for more information on reservations and agreements.

4) When you come in to use the laser for the first time, please notify the staff member on duty that you have completed your quiz. Have your library card number handy so we can look up your quiz results and certify completion.
