3D Printing

A guide for PPLD's 3D printers

Lulzbot Mini and TAZ 6 3D Printers Badging

Becoming badged, or certified, to use the 3D printers during Makerspace Open Hours is simple and valid at all three PPLD makerspace locations. Follow the steps below to learn everything you need to know to use the machines.

1) Watch the video shown below. We recommend watching the entire video before proceeding to step 2, where you will take a quiz to ensure that you have the knowledge you need to use the machine safely and effectively.

2) Complete the assessment quiz. You must enter your own individual library card number at the beginning of the quiz. If you do not yet have your own library card, please visit any PPLD location and register with us.

You must answer all seven questions correctly, so make sure to pay attention to the video. If you don't get them correct the first time, don't worry.  Look for the "View Your Accuracy" link after you finish the quiz to see how you did. If you got a question wrong, you can go back and take the quiz again.

3) Fill out the Makerspace Use and Liability Waiver, if you have not already done so. You can print and sign it in advance by accessing the form below, or come in person and ask a staff member for the waiver. Every person being badged needs their own signed copy.

4) When you come into Makerspace Open Hours, please notify the staff member that you have completed your quiz. Have your library card number handy so we can look up your quiz results and certify completion.
