Free Legal Workshops - Attend free online classes that will cover: financials of a divorce; modifications and post-decree issues; how to present your case; child custody; APR; and more!

Renter's Rights in the Park

Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 10 a.m.  - 1 p.m. in Acacia Park

This outdoor event will offer the following: 

Free Legal Advice: Sit down one-on-one with a real lawyer and get free legal advice on your housing matter. Appointments are limited to 20 minutes. Advice will be on a first come, first serve basis. Please arrive early to ensure you are able to meet with a lawyer.

Free Workshops: Choose from three 20-minute workshops: Evictions during COVID-19, Communicating with Your Landlord, and Reasonable Accommodations. 

Free Lunch and Prizes: All attendees will receive - free bagged lunch, free tools and resources, and a chance to win 1 month’s rent*. 

*Drawing for rent prize will be at 12:45 pm. Attendees must attend at least 1 workshop to qualify. Attendees must live in El Paso County or Teller County to qualify. Rent prize will be paid directly to the landlord.

Virtual Pro Se Clinic (VPC) Free Legal Clinic: 

These clinics are now being held over the phone from 3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. on the first Monday of every month, except for July and September (due to holidays).

Despite the COVID-19 closures of libraries across Colorado, the Virtual Pro Se Clinic (VPC) clinics will still be held as scheduled. 
The volunteer attorney will call each clinic patron directly by telephone. For this reason, it is especially important that a reliable phone number be included when making an appointment.
