The CNC is now available through reservation at Library 21c during Make II Open Hours. Reservations are for 1 to 4 hours, up to 2 times a month. They can be made up to one week in advance. Walk-ins are permitted - even if both reservations have already been used - however, usage of the machine cannot be guaranteed. See the link at the bottom of this box to reserve the CNC.
In order to use the CNC you must:
- Be at least 16 years old
- Complete the badging process
- Minors must have a signed Creative Space Use Agreement on file.
- Adults must accept the Creative Space Use Agreement terms when making a reservation.
What you will need:
- You will need to bring your own materials. Currently, we allow acrylic sheets and any domestic wood.
- You will need to create or find your designs. Acceptable file types include: *.svg, *.ai, *.png, *.jpg, *.dxf. Other file types may work, but PPLD cannot guarantee compatibility with the software.
PPLD will provide:
- PPLD will provide all of the router bits. Please talk to a staff member if you need specialized bits.
- Access to VCarve Pro, the software needed to create toolpaths.
- Screws and clamps.
- Drills and screwdrivers.
There is no cost for using the machine. The maximum size for materials is 24" x 18" x 2.5".
