The PPLD Law Collection provides its constituents and the wider community of Southern Colorado with public access to federal, state and local legal materials, as well as trained librarians to assist with research. The library focuses on serving the general public and paralegal students by providing current legal materials, retaining few retrospective materials. Please read our Legal Reference Service Policy to learn how PPLD librarians can help with your legal research.
The Collection is located at Penrose Library, 20 N Cascade Avenue in Colorado Springs, and is available during regular library hours.
Please note that the Penrose Library will be closed for renovations for approximately two months starting February 1, 2024. For more information: https://ppld.org/PE-closure. Patrons will be able to access Westlaw and the Colorado Revised Statutes at East Library during the closure.

History:
In 2002, PPLD offered to house the El Paso County Bar Association’s law library, which had lost its home at the courthouse. The El Paso County Bar Law Library lived at Penrose Library from 2002-2010, providing legal research resources to both attorneys and the public. When the bar association decided to cease funding their law library in 2010, part of their collection was donated to PPLD, which continues to provide the public with free access to legal materials.
