TESSATESSA is the only provider of confidential services specifically for victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (DVSA) in El Paso and Teller Counties. We provide immediate safety at our confidential Safehouse for women, children, and other victims escaping abuse. We empower survivors through programs and support such as Advocacy and Counseling. We create a safer future through Education and Outreach to schools, businesses, and other organizations.
Volunteers could participate in the following ways.
Administrative Support: Provide filing, data entry, phone support and special project assistance.
Children’s Program: Educate and facilitate art and recreational activities with children living with, or coming from homes with, domestic violence and abuse.
Confidential Victim Advocacy: Assist clients with the Temporary Protection Order process, court support, safety planning, information/referral services, and hospital response.
Safe Line: Provide telephone crisis intervention, information and referral services on our safe line.
Development: Assist with special events and projects, administrative support, data entry, and fundraisers.
Safehouse: Provide case management and client services for female victims and their children residing in the Safehouse.
Minimum age requirement is 18 for client-facing positions and
16 for Development and Administrative.
