See the organizations below for local, state, and national groups that focus on connecting nonprofits and providing resources, either for free or through a membership.

Tips:

Search for a national association related to your field—for example, the American Alliance of Museums, the Outdoor Industry Association, or the National Coalition for the Homeless, etc... These organizations often offer valuable resources, professional development opportunities, and networking connections.
Not ready to buy a membership? Resources behind paywalls may sometimes be accessible through your nonprofit librarian. Reach out to see if they can help you access or request the resource on your behalf.

Nonprofit Community

Association of Fundraising Professional, Southern Colorado Chapter
The Association of Fundraising Professionals Southern Colorado Chapter is committed to refining and improving the development community. They host a quarterly Lunch and Learn speaker series on a variety of development topics. They are also responsible for the Summit on Philanthropy, an all-day training featuring a national speaker. Both with member and non-member rates. To encourage a broad audience, they host a free monthly mixer that is open to anyone interested in fundraising.
Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center
The Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center offers business consulting and training that maximizes the economic potential of entrepreneurs within the Pikes Peak region.
Colorado Springs Leadership Institute
The Colorado Springs Leadership Institute was formed in 1996 to increase the quality and quantity of leaders in the Colorado Springs community. CSLI's mission today remains the same: to enhance local leadership through the development of personal, professional and civic knowledge. The program provides a platform where established leaders come to network, share ideas, problem solve and form collaborative relationships.
Elevating Leadership Development Program
A program of the El Pomar Foundation, ELD advances the skills, knowledge, and network of leaders of color by providing access to leadership development and civic engagement opportunities, and by celebrating ethnic diversity.
Leadership Pikes Peak
Leadership Pikes Peak’s objective is civic leadership for the Pikes Peak region.
They provide community leadership programs for experienced professionals, young professionals, women, and teens. The programs range from four to ten months and are geared toward providing skills, knowledge, and connections so that their participants can serve in the community effectively. These programs have more than 2,400 graduates who, as community trustees, work to make the Pikes Peak region a wonderful place to live, work, and play.
Pikes Peak Community Foundation
Since 1928, Pikes Peak Community Foundation has been inspiring generosity, serving fundholders and mobilizing resources to effectively and equitably address the Pikes Peak Region’s critical issues and transformational opportunities.
Pikes Peak United Way
PPUW's mission is to enhance youth success and family stability in the Pikes Peak Region by leading and lifting the most vulnerable in our community with mentorship, life resources and real job opportunities. Their signature programs and partner agencies intently focus on connecting youth and their families to resources at the beginning of their life journey to ensure access to fundamental needs of food, shelter and learning resources for all.
Give! Pikes Peak
Nonprofits that serve El Paso and Teller Counties are invited to apply to the Give Campaign every spring. A selection committee reviews every application to make sure the nonprofit is a good fit for the campaign.
Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region
The Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region (a.k.a. COPPR) is the nonprofit local arts agency that serves the City of Colorado Springs and the greater Pikes Peak region (El Paso and Teller Counties) in Colorado.

Colorado Nonprofit Association
The Colorado Nonprofit Association educates and informs Colorado nonprofits about new ideas, best practices, and pressing public policies. They are located in Denver, host trainings and workshops on a variety of nonprofit topics for a fee. Members can have access to their nonprofit help desk and pro bono legal advice. Their website also provides sample policies and forms.
Community Resource Center
Community Resource Center creates opportunities, tools and strategies to develop nonprofits and community groups to strengthen Colorado. They host the Colorado Grants Guide, which PPLD subscribes to, offers workshops on a variety of nonprofit topics across the State of Colorado. They publish a Starting a Nonprofit workbook.
Grant Professionals Association - Colorado Chapter
The Grant Professionals Association (GPA), founded in 1998, is a nonprofit membership organization of grant professionals committed to serving the public good by practicing the highest ethical and professional standards. The Colorado Chapter provides opportunities for professional development and networking.
Colorado Nonprofit Development Center
Colorado Nonprofit Development Center’s fiscal sponsor services have benefitted hundreds of emerging and established charitable ventures as well as the funders and donors.
Colorado Gives Foundation
Free fundraising platform for 501(c)(3)s headquartered or providing services in Colorado.

Association of Fundraising Professionals
The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) represents more than 30,000 members in over 230 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs. The association fosters development and growth of fundraising professionals and promotes high ethical standards in the fundraising profession.
National Council of Nonprofits
The National Council of Nonprofits (Council of Nonprofits) is a trusted resource and advocate for America’s charitable nonprofits. They identify emerging trends, share proven practices, and promote solutions that benefit charitable nonprofits and the communities they serve. There is a fee for membership. They provide Tools and Resources on a variety of nonprofit topics, from starting a nonprofit to ethics that can be read for free. They offer a blog that does not require membership.
Council on Foundations
Is a nonprofit leadership association of grantmaking foundations and corporations. It provides the opportunity, leadership, and tools needed by philanthropic organizations to expand, enhance and sustain their ability to advance the common good.
Nonprofit Hub
Nonprofit Hub is an online resource center offering free articles, guides, webinars, and training to help nonprofits improve their marketing, fundraising, leadership, and organizational strategies. It’s a great starting point for anyone looking to strengthen their nonprofit skills or grow their organization.
Candid Learning
Candid Learning offers free training, resources, and tools to help nonprofits, foundations, and individuals improve their fundraising, grant writing, and organizational effectiveness. It’s a trusted source for building nonprofit knowledge and skills.
Nonprofit Learning Lab, The
Is a national organization, located in Denver, that connects, supports, and develops individuals seeking to lead the nonprofit sector. There is a membership fee, but offers activity sheets that can be downloaded for free on topics such as developing a case statement, fundraising plan, and donor prospect. It does have a free e-newsletter.

Asking Matters

The Association of Fundraising Professionals Southern Colorado hosted Brian Saber for their 2015 Annual Summit on Philanthropy, and he was fantastic. The site offers a brief assessment on your asking style, which is fun to take. It also offers free training material, along with fee-based material, and a blog you can sign up for.
Chronicle of Philanthropy

Offers a subscription for a fee. The newsletter is free and can have both open and subscription based articles. The El Pomar Nonprofit Resource Center located at the Penrose branch of the Pikes Peak Library District has a physical subscription available for you to access the locked articles referred to in the newsletter.
Classy

Is a fundraising site but is included in this list because it offers a weekly blog post that often contains really nice infographics on fundraising statistics.
Candid Learning for Funders

Previously known as GrantCraft and produced by Candid (previously known as the Foundation Center), it is considered a go-to place for thinking critically about philanthropy and building skills for effective grantmaking. Also includes some fun infographics on fundraising.
Network for Good

Is a fee-based donation tracking tool for purchase. They do offer a blog you can sign up for free, along with free webinars. However, they can be a little pushy so don't be surprised if you sign up for the newsletter and you get calls from a salesperson.
Nonprofit AF

This is a great blog about nonprofit management and the various issues they juggle. It is filled with practical, common sense, and a touch of humor. Well worth the read.
Nonprofit Hub

Is an online education community for the nonprofit sector, offering articles on nonprofit branding and marketing. You can sign up for their newsletter. It will host webinars, sometimes for free.
Nonprofit Quarterly

Is a subsription based independent news source for nonprofit information. They do offer a free e-newsletter you can sign up for, and many articles on their website are open for reading.
Philanthropy News Digest

A news service provided by Candid (previously known as the Foundation Center), that posts articles, jobs, and requests for proposals. You can subscribe to their weekly e-newsletter for free.
SmartBrief

Publishes more than 200 niche e-mail newsletters in partnership with leading trade associations and professional societies. Authors favorite is SmartBrief on Leadership. The newsletters are free.
