Human Library: Real People, Real Conversations

A library of human beings, the Human Library is a collection of people from all walks of life featuring “human books” available for "checkout." Individuals serve as human “books” and participants can “read” the book by engaging in a conversation with the book on loan. Readers have the opportunity to have a 20-minute conversation with their book selections.

PPLD has hosted three human library programs and we are excited to announce our next Human Library program will be held on Saturday, March 23 from 12-4 p.m. at the East Library. For more information on our next Human Library event, click here

Previously, two Human Library events were held in the spring and fall of 2017. In 2018, books were added to the collection and a third program was held in March. Our 2019 event will feature new books along with some of our best sellers from our 2017 and 2018 catalogs. Click here for a list of 2019 titles available.

Reservations are now open! Call ahead to reserve a book for Saturday, March 23. To reserve a book, please read the descriptions of the books that will be available here and then call (719)389-8968 between March 18-22.
