When writing a paper or conducting research for a project, a citation is a quote or reference to a book, paper, or original creator of a work. Examples of information and resources produced by another author that should always be cited are as follows: quotations, statistics, images, case studies, theories, experimental methods or results, research procedures or findings, websites, books, magazines, etc.
