This guide provides resources for computer and internet use.

Computer Classes

PPLD offers computer classes free of charge at select locations. Topics include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Gmail Basics, Facebook Basics, and more. Classes are offered on a rotating schedule and require registration. 

Computer and Device Help

Questions about using the Internet, email, social networks, a Smartphone, tablet, eBooks, or something else? PPLD offers many ways for you to build your technology skills and confidence. Options include drop in help times and one-on-one assistance provided at different locations. Be sure to bring your device or laptop with you. Please note that staff cannot assist with setting up devices, for example, installing operating systems. 


Computer and Device Help - regularly scheduled assistance times

  • East Library: First and Third Wednesday of the month, 2 - 4 p.m. 
  • Library 21c, Study Room A: Second and Fourth Tuesday of the month, 10 - 11:30 a.m. (Registration required)
  • Penrose Library, Bay Area: Tuesdays 2 - 3 p.m.; Wednesdays, 1 - 2 p.m.; Fridays, 10 - 11 a.m.
  • Ruth Holley Library: First and Third Monday of the month, 6 - 7 p.m.

Laptop Lab - Library laptops available to work on personal projects, learn new skills, and explore the Internet
