Event: Outdoor Films & Photography

Speaker: Chris Alstrin

Time: 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM

His work has taken him from alpine pitches in the Himalayas to the deserts of Namibia and the crack country of Utah, chronicling stories of first ascents and bold projects. He has worked for such clients as Art-teryx, Beal Ropes, and Petzl. His feature film WideBoyz (Mountainfilm 2013), which was first seen in a teaser form as a part of Sender Films' Reel Rock (Mountainfilm 2012), follows two off-width-obsessed British climbers as they attempt to ascend the hardest big cracks in the U.S.

This program is a partnership with the Colorado Department of Education, State Library, local library systems, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife. It is meant to encourage Coloradans to visit our State Parks and experience all of the great outdoor recreation that this state has to offer. Libraries across the state are offering "Check Out State Parks" passes, each for distribution with an activity backpack containing binoculars, brochures and other educational materials to library patrons.
